Bigfoot research takes on many faces, from university professors like Jeff Meldrum to your average Joe like me who spends weekends camping in the woods. Bigfoot research enthusiast Chris Noel (I've written about him recently) has upped his game and plans to shoot a documentary and he's seeking help from the Bigfoot community. The film we focus on Bigfoot Habituation Sites? What are Habituation Sites? Well, that's why Noel wants to shoot a film, to educate the world about backyard Bigfoots.
How Bigfoot Research Needs Your Help
Noel, who has put thousands of miles on his car driving to Bigfoot locations, and spent countless dollars of his own money (don't tell his wife!) is now seeking financial for his Bigfoot research documentary film. Rather than begging door to door, he's using a relatively new website called Kickstarter that helps entreprenuers, inventors, scientists etc. fund their projects by seeking money from a social networking community.
So if you want to be a part of a Bigfoot research group but live nowhere near a location with with Bigfoots, you could donate as little as $20 to the cause. Or if you've ever dreamed of being a movie producer, this gets you one step closer to the action. Once the project gets fully funded, you're attached to it and can get regular updates of its progress. To learn more about Noel's film project on Kickstarter go here.
Bigfoot Research and Social Networking
Noel's approach with Kickstart is actually a cool idea and it embraces a concept that I believe in -- that social networks can share information quickly and solve mysteries like Bigfoot faster than traditional research.
By pulling together people with similar interests in various parts of the country, you can quickly build a database of real-time information to further your research -- or even to find funding for your projects.
Will Bigfoot Research Gain Funding?
It's not clear yet whether Noel has a successful idea and it's less clear whether Kickstarter has a viable website concept. The site is full of interesting, if not half-baked, ideas that their owners feel passionate about. However, in a recession, most consumers aren't looking for ways to speculate with their hard-earned dollars.
So it remains to be seen whether Bigfoot research will gain funding and eventually find Bigfoot. There's a time limit set on Noel's project.
He has 59 days to go (as of this post) and raised $35 in pledges. Will help fund the documentary that might help find Bigfoot?
